First, to summarize the views expressed in the meeting, the blog and elsewhere.
It seems as though the ETS assessment isn't what we are looking for. It is not focused enough on information literacy to make it a worthwhile assessment of our program. It seems to test critical thinking skills but the tasks often are too bogged down by extensive reading and fine details. While the results of the database related questions would be interesting, there is too much extraneous material to make the test worthwhile.
Is this an accurate summary of our thoughts about the ETS exam?
